I have set up these Intensives so that  beginners have a great opportunity to learn the Ashtanga practice at your own pace, directly from a teacher, known as Mysore style.  Those already established in the Ashtanga practice have an opportunity to deepen their practice or recommit to it, join with a community of like-minded yogis, or even just see what it's like to practice 5 days in a row :-)  Drop-ins are also welcome, though beginners are advised to attend one full week first.

These intensives can be taken one week at a time, one week every month or couple of months, or as needed.  After attending at least one of these Intensives, and following up with a home practice, and/or attending Mysore classes regularly, students will build a strong Ashtanga practice to take with them for a lifetime.  With patience, persistence, and receptivity, this practice will transform you.  Give yourself this opportunity to jump in and go deep!

The Sunday sessions are an opportunity to go over what to expect in a Mysore style class setting, and break down sections of the Primary Series as needed, with time to answer questions. Mysore sessions Monday through Thursday are an opportunity to put what we cover on Sundays into practice.  The Friday Morning Led Primary classes will leave time for Q&A at the end as well.

Here are the details day by day:

Sunday 3-5pm Introduction to Ashtanga Mysore Style Practice:
We'll talk about what to expect when you arrive for practice Monday Morning, and as the week progresses.  We'll also begin learning the Sun Salutations (A & B), breaking down the poses and building a strong foundation for the rest of the practice.

Monday-Thursday 6-8am, or 7-9am Mysore:
Traditional Mysore style classes.  Students arrive and practice at their own pace. Newer students will be taught the sequence and more experienced students will receive help with deepening their practice.

Friday 6:30-8am Led Primary Series:  Students will be guided, vinyasa by vinyasa, through the Ashtanga Primary Series.  Those students who have not yet learned the entire series will stop after their last given pose, and may close early and go, or wait and observe till the closing sequence and finish with the others.
